Committed to local collaborations, Thales works closely with Malaysian businesses and goverment sectors to provide cutting-edge systems and solutions that ensure safety, security, and readiness for the future.The Project Manager is responsible for the technical/programmatic and budgetary aspects of the project and must:Ensure smooth transition from offer to project and contribute to the preparation, organisation and validation of the project launch:
  • Establish and update the original references of the project in collaboration with the Bid Manager.
  • Set up and update execution references (project structuring, description of work package sheets, partner and supplier contract data, project plans, financial structure, budget and costs, planning).
  • Set up and update justification references (risks provisions, strategy, profitability).
  • Initialise the project: identify key project stakeholders, build the project team, set up structuring activities, start project management activities, identify, and allocate project entry requirements.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the acquisition strategy: "Make or Buy" strategy, consult and negotiate with suppliers, contract, execute and close the contract.
  • Lead to the project launch review by involving all stakeholders: composition of the project team, Project Management Plan and associated documents (WBS, OBS, schedule, budget allocations...), industrial scenario, project charter, team charter, etc.
Carry out, manage and control the project:
  • Launch work packages.
  • Manage the project and ensure compliance with stakeholder commitments, while controlling risks and opportunities.
  • Control requirements, deadlines and financial aspects throughout the duration of the project.
  • Be responsible for the project quality and the overall customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Manage legal and contractual obligations and master litigation.
  • Carry out project reporting and phase review meetings.
  • Manage the project closure by capitalising and sharing on the experience acquired.
Requirements:Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management or other suitable discipline.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience in a multi-national enterprise organisation
  • Proven and effective leadership with a high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multi-disciplinary/multi-cultural teams across geographies and time zones.
  • Exceptional written communication skills including authoring content and editing.
  • Basic project finance understanding.
  • Strong internal stakeholder management in a matrix organization.
  • Strong customer focus and external relationship management.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent (e.g. IPMA) will be an additional advantage.

  • Self-motivated and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base and new products
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity to make informed project decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, collaborative, interpersonal & time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities is essential
  • Results-oriented, autonomous and proactive
