This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in internal auditing, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, capable of fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement within the organisation. Strategic Management: Develop and implement strategies for the Professional Practice and Governance team to support Group Audit's mission and vision. Maintain and update the Internal Audit Charter to define the internal audit function's purpose, authority, and responsibilities within OCBC Banking Group. Align Group Audit's organisation, strategy, and resources with the Banking Group's strategic objectives and corporate governance, while adapting to stakeholder expectations and emerging trends in internal auditing. People Management: Lead and motivate the department, ensuring team members possess the necessary skills and adherence to professional ethics and independence. Establish measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) for audit teams to achieve the division's goals. Develop guest auditor programs to enhance understanding of audit processes and encourage contributions from guest auditors. Foster a culture of ethics, accountability, and continuous learning among staff. Deliverables Management: Create an annual risk-based audit plan aligned with the Banking Group's corporate strategy and operating environment. Monitor audit plan execution, manage budgets, and report on progress and results. Adjust the audit plan as necessary to address emerging risks and regulatory changes. Periodically report on significant governance, risk management, and internal control issues, providing resolutions and annual assessments of internal controls. Internal Audit Practice Management: Develop and maintain relevant audit methodologies and standards, benchmarking against leading internal auditing practices. Implement a quality assurance program to ensure compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards and enhance audit effectiveness. Stakeholders Management : Prepare and propose the annual audit plan, budget, and KPIs for CEO and Audit Committee review. Regularly report audit results, significant issues, and KPI progress to the Audit Committee and CEO. Streamline and automate reporting processes. Engage with regulators and divisional management to discuss audit themes, internal controls, and emerging risks, facilitating proactive decision-making and a strong risk culture. Coordinate with external auditors as needed. Bachelor&aposs degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in an internal audit role, in financial services, preferably in Professional Practices, Audit Methodology, Quality Assurance, Planning and Governance Reporting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
