- A Product Engineer 4 will represent Global Product Engineering/Mechatronics in support of the high volume manufacturing of electro mechanical devices that are globally distributed to Lam customers and suppliers.
- Takes a front-line technical role:
- responding to questions, removing roadblocks, ensuring quality, and facilitating close collaboration between product engineering, suppliers, and global operations personnel.
- Will become a subject matter experts on incoming component quality and assembly methods required to ensure performance and reliability, particularly of robotics motion.
- Participates in cross functional global product transition teams and manages product engineering deliverables for supplier production release.
- Participates in training and quality development and ensures that product engineering's best known methods are adhered to in manufacturing and product final test.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing engineering support of manufacturing and production processes.
- Performs problem solving and recommends updates or changes to quality standards and procedures.
- Understand and assist with testing of electromechanical products.
- Be familiar with failure analysis, process development, application flows, material issues, and system interconnects.
- Coordinate with other groups and organizations for design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing to solve product issues and production problems.
- Provide oversight and guidance in suppliers' quality performance for consistent and reliable products.
- Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to coordinate continuous improvement and qualification activities.
- Be a lead advocate for your product across company organizations.
- Minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree in the following fields (but not limited to): Electrical, Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering and Robotics.
- Working knowledge of Statistics Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D and 5-Whys Problem solving.
- Competent user of MS office tools (ppt, excel, project).
- Previous experience in cross-functional project management.
- Previous experience leading technical projects.
- Comfortable with travelling and working with global team.
- Understand GD&T and commonly used drawing standards.
- Experience assuring compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards.
