Responsibilities In line with ByteDance's globalization plans, there has been an increasing demand for payment services and financial services such as BNPL to: (1) enhance and support our current business needs and (2) increase our service offerings to the end user. As such, the need for payment services has gradually increased in our overseas business development strategy. Whether it's paying money to creators/users to encourage user growth, or offering paid services to users, payments have become an important step in our integrated service offerings. In order to facilitate and provide such services, Global Payments ('GP') was set up. GP is supported by a group of payments licensed entities which are subsidiaries under ByteDance Ltd. About the role We are seeking for a Compliance Lead who is familiar in running a compliance function for Credit Service company in Malaysia. The candidate needs to have a strong knowledge of the regulations in relation to Consumer Loans issued by the local authorities and good knowledge of the AML/CFT requirements and experience dealing with the local authorities. The candidate should also be familiar with the regulatory development of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) in Malaysia. This role requires someone that is self driven, adaptable to changes and resourceful to achieve its yearly objectives in a highly fast paced environment. This role will be reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, MY who oversees both payment financial services for the Malaysia Business. Responsibilities - Supporting the Chief Compliance Officer in ensuring the MAS/EMI institution is in compliance with the applicable regulations, Policy Documents and guidelines, where applicable issued by the BNM - Develop and implement internal compliance programs (including training and awareness) tailored to MAS/EMI activities (e.g. Safeguarding, AML/CFT Programs, etc) - Ensure all compliance related regulatory reports are submitted to the BNM based on the stipulated timeline - Provide compliance advisory for both regulatory and AML/CFT matters Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Experience in both regulatory and AML/CFT compliance, preferably in the payments industry with experience dealing with BNM - Strong leadership and people management skills to build a high performing compliance function and strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders - Strong understanding of the payment eco-system and payment products - Understanding of BNM policy documents such as E-Money, Merchant Acquiring Services, Risk Management in Technology and Business Continuity Management. Preferred Qualifications: - Prior experience working as a regulator or in a payment institution with regional exposure is a plus - Experience in conducting regulatory risk assessment, EWRA and developing compliance policy and procedures.
