Country Head of Finance (Japanese Speaker)

- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings in coordination with SSC Finance teams (AP, AR, GAMA, TR, T&E, Compliance, Procurement)
- Review P&L and balance sheet; ensure accuracy and compliance with internal control frameworks (ICFR, INVOLVE, BWISE)
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, IFRS 16 lease reporting, and management accounting (e.g. COPA, SSC allocations)
- Oversee AR/AP processes, including billing approvals, collections, vendor payments, and sales reporting
- Handle treasury operations: cash flow forecasting, FX, fund transfers, and banking matters
- Govern financial master data (COA, cost/profit centers, WBS, vendor/customer data); manage tax calculations and liaise with tax consultants
- Support statutory audit, respond to compliance queries, and drive continuous process improvements across financial operations
- Act as the key contact for all financial matters between affiliate and SSC.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field; professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, including at least 3 years in an accounting, audit, or controllership capacity
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (IFRS), audit processes, and local tax regulations; hands-on experience working with auditors and tax authorities
- Proven ability to prepare and analyze full financial statements, with strong skills in writing detailed balance sheet and P&L commentaries and conducting financial reviews
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office; highly meticulous, independent, and able to manage tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate and manage stakeholders across functions and cultural backgrounds
- Fluent in English and Japanese (minimum JLPT N2); additional language proficiency is an advantage
- Open to occasional business travel as required
- Competitive salary range between MYR 167,400 and MYR 204,600 annually.
