- Lead the architecture, engineering, and security of bp’s unified enterprise data platform.
- Ensure end-to-end platform security and compliance with global regulatory and industry standards.
- Drive operational excellence by optimizing system performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead modernization initiatives to ensure seamless integration with enterprise IT environments.
- Define and implement governance models, security standards, and risk management strategies.
- Design automated security monitoring, vulnerability management, and identity/access solutions.
- Champion CI/CD, DevOps culture, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices across the data platform.
- Develop disaster recovery strategies and ensure high availability and resilience of platform services.
- Collaborate with internal technology teams and external partners to align solutions with business goals.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, promoting a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic guidance on technology investments, security posture, and operational risks.
- Support career development through coaching, feedback, and technical mentorship.
- Partner with senior engineering leaders to develop long-term roadmaps that reduce risk, improve scalability, and enhance operational sustainability.
- Work cross-functionally to align priorities and scale bp’s data capabilities across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise technology, security, or operations within large-scale global environments.
- Proficiency in C# and Python.
- Strong experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like AWS CDK and Azure Bicep.
- In-depth understanding of ITIL, Agile, and enterprise IT governance frameworks.
- Proven expertise in platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Databricks, and Palantir.
- Strong knowledge of data pipeline architecture, governance, security, and visualization.
- Experience designing and optimizing multi-cloud data platforms for performance, resilience, and cost-efficiency.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning, data indexing, and distributed query optimization.
- Familiarity with real-time and batch data streaming architectures.
- Proven ability to navigate complex, regulated environments, ensuring platform compliance and enterprise-wide risk management.
- Experience with AI/ML-driven data engineering, using intelligent automation to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
