- Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, legal regulations, and industry standards.
- Advise internal teams on contractual rights, obligations, and risks.
- Prepare and manage project budgets and cost plans.
- Monitor project expenditure, ensuring it stays within the allocated budget.
- Track variations, change orders, and ensure timely approvals.
- Analyse project performance from a cost perspective and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Lead or support the preparation of bids and tender submissions.
- Evaluate tender documents, identify risks, and provide commercial input during the bidding process.
- Ensure projects pricing are competitive while maintaining reasonable profit margins.
- Identify, analyse, and manage commercial and contractual risks.
- Implement mitigation strategies for cost overruns, claims, and delays.
- Conduct regular risk reviews and report potential exposures to management.
- Manage and prepare claims related to time, cost, or scope variations.
- Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes with clients, subcontractors, or suppliers.
- Prepare commercial reports including cash flow forecasts, cost-to-complete reports, and profit margin analysis.
- Track project performance and provide regular updates to management.
- Forecast revenue and profitability across multiple projects.
- Support or lead procurement activities for subcontractors, vendors, and materials.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with contractual obligations and project timelines.
- Review supplier/subcontractor agreements to ensure favourable terms and commercial protection.
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of work experience in similar role in construction or engineering background.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts.
- Strong understanding of quantity surveying and cost control.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Familiar with legal frameworks in the construction and engineering industry.
- Proficiency in commercial software (e.g. ERP systems, MS Excel, project management tools).
- Languages – English and proficiency in mandarin preferred.
