-Ensure electrical systems perform safely at required reliability with minimum cost of ownership through preventive and corrective maintenance.
-Minimise the impact of electrical system failures to the business.
-Ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory requirements.Principal responsibilities.

Electrical systems, equipment & installations including:
- High/Medium/Low voltage substations and switchgears
- Motor control centers.
- Variable frequency drivers
- Battery & UPS system.
- Electrical control systems.
- Electrical measuring & billing systems.
- Motors & heaters, power generators, transformers, portable electrical consumers.
- Lighting, grounding, domestic electrical installations.
- PA systems, communication and alarm system, CCTV.
- Predictive maintenance tools-partial discharge monitoring, transient earth voltage measurement, thermography etc.Leadership
- Supervise the work of plant technicians for electrical systems related activities and coach them
- Manage & supervise contractors for electrical systems related work.Functional responsibilities
Operations
-Perform electrical isolation.
-Perform load management & shielding.
-Perform switching activities in the power distribution system.
-Provide electrical safety training to operations & maintenance personnel.
-Ensuring proper functioning/calibration of electrical measuring and billing systems.
- Ensure timely renewal of any electrical licenses.Maintenance
-Ensure compliance to the Linde work process.
-Ensure adequate vendor/contractor support.
-Define & implement preventive maintenance activities and ensures they are carried out.
- Budget, plan & execute corrective maintenance as outcome of failures, preventives, predictive maintenance.
- Develop scope of work for major turnaround ; ensure availability of required material and services.
- Supervise the execution if turnaround work.
- Define and maintain required local spares.Projects/Modification.
-Design, specify and implement minor modification (including emergency situations).
-Initiate engineering management of change process for modifications.
-Ensure compliance to local regulations and obtain necessary approvals.
-Implement corrective actions from the audits and root cause failure analysis.
-Support the execution of the modifications from Alerts, LFRE & directive.
- Update & maintain as built drawings.Troubleshooting
-Investigate and electrical system related trips.
-Determine pre-requisites to restart after a trip.
- Perform contingency planning and execute in case of emergency.
- Perform root cause failure analysis for all electrical system related trips/failure.Reporting/performance management
-Report related repair cost.
-Classify every related trip in downtime reporting along with the root cause analysis of the incident.
-Report completion of the corrective actions from audits, root cause analysis, alerts & directives in reporting platform.Required functional skills
- Experience in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting high voltage systems.
- Experience with electrical isolation and re-energization.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical equipment and systems.
- Good background in electrical safety and knowledge of hazards involved in operation and maintenance of electrical system.
- In depth knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques including the use of SAP PM to manage these processes.
- Familiarity with relevant national and international codes and standards.
- Basic knowledge of ASU/HYCO/CO2 plants including the associate hazards.
- Familiarity with process & instrumentation (P&I), logics and control diagrams with knowledge of control system.
- Experience in root cause failure analysis.Required qualification
- At least 10-15 years hand-on experience in the fields of Electrical operations and maintenance.
-Bachelor /Master in Engineering.
-Should possess authorizations per local statutory requirements - certified Chargeman.
-3 to 5 years of experience as electrical maintenance engineer for process plants with high voltage systems.
-Experience in using computerized maintenance system preferably SAP.
