- Establish quality and process control plans at suppliers for early detection of issues and to ensure highest level of quality and reliability is consistently delivered.
- Assess vendor process capabilities and drive failure analysis and corrective action plan.
- Responsible for supplier quality management, supplier assessment with a focus on supplier quality controls, and supplier readiness.
- Drive supplier quality performance, including new product development and product quality improvement.
- Lead APQP/PPAP supplier flow down activities in collaboration with Engineering and Supply Chain.
- Assist with first article qualification and approvals.
- Conduct DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
- Support stop-ship activities related to suppliers, supplier audits, and other quality functions, as needed.
- Perform supplier quality system and process audits.
- Collect, monitor, analyze and report supplier product quality performance and Key Process Indicators.
- Ability to handle assigned projects through good communication and project management skills.
- Communicate with local and global colleagues on any engineering and quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through review of design and process changes, as well as verification & validation plans/reports for sustaining and transition activities.
- Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to refine and improve quality system tools and processes.
- Participate in and lead kaizen events to achieve targeted improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
- 8+years working experience in supplier quality and/or engineering related area
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 9001 / 13485 preferred
- Experience with Advanced Quality Engineering tools such as Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA), GD&T, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Mistake Proofing/Poke-Yoke, statistical sampling
- Proven understanding of Six Sigma principles or Lean Manufacturing concepts is preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience conducting technical reviews with senior leadership.
- English, Chinese and Mala language skills a must
- Electronic knowledge and skills are preferred (Circuit schematic reading, PCA process, PCB process, LCD process, electronic component knowledge and so on)
- Strong problem-solving skills and team-work approach
- Understanding and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of tools like SPC, MSA and PPAP
- Have ownership/ leadership mindset with experience achieving results with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work and delivering results.
- Willing to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers or internal manufacturing sites.
