The Director will work closely with the Managing Directors, Directors and other employees to support clients with their needs. They will be called upon to provide director and related services to a wide range of investment vehicles and structures Essential Duties And Responsibilities Serve as an independent director in good faith and in a manner that is reasonably believed to be in or not prejudicial to the best interests of the company; Advise on hedge funds and other alternative investment vehicles; Thoroughly review information, opinions, reports, statements, including financial statements and other financial data, which are prepared or presented by others; Act to the furthest extent possible in a disinterested manner, not be influenced by any financial or personal interest in the matter under consideration, fully disclose any possible financial or personal interests in the matter under consideration in all the circumstances, and act in a manner fair to the company; Exercise his/her highest business judgment and endeavor that business decisions are taken in the absence of fraud, bad faith, or abuse of discretion; Be faced with decisions that require special knowledge or expertise one does not possess or cannot readily obtain, and rely reasonably upon information presented by others to make the decision; Gather all information reasonably available before making a business decision and inform him/herself of alternatives to a proposed business decision; Keep abreast of all relevant regulatory changes; Actively question methods and processes with the key to making the team more effective and efficient; Become a subject matter expert, and encourage and coach other members of the team by sharing knowledge and hosting training sessions where required; Be able and willing to take on additional duties as and when required including covering for colleagues when they are out of office; Participate in international business development for personal directorships as well as other entities; Coach and mentor business development personnel; Coach and mentor the Associate Directors, Senior Associates and Associates; Follow Waystone's Code of Conduct and lead by example; Lead projects as and when required; Be responsible for the generation of new business sales revenue and also for the overall development and growth of Waystone' profile and reputation; Act as second level of review for Directors on other boards; Complete all database and regulatory projects in coordination with the operations team; Ensure receipt of performance reports and holding of board meetings; Review and ensure receipt of performance reports; Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met for assigned portfolio of clients; Liaise with attorneys, investment managers, brokers and other financial service providers around the world as the primary contact; Attend client presentations and demonstrations, and prepare in-depth proposals and detailed quotes; Monitor the accounts receivables for clients and make phone calls when receivables reach over 60 days outstanding; Take responsibility for all matters relating to portfolio of clients; Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met for assigned portfolio of clients; Complete phone notes on all client calls and save all emails sent to clients to Salesforce. Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education A degree in Law, Accountancy or Finance or qualification as a Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Tax Advisor, Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. Experience Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification senior financial services experience, with a proven track record of advancement. Strong client services experience at management level within the investment funds industry. Experience reviewing fund governing documentation and financial statements. Proven ability to independently liaise with global service providers, including attorneys, investment managers, brokers etc. Firm knowledge of Cayman Islands laws and regulations applicable to Cayman funds and related entities, including the Economic Substance Act, Mutual Funds Act, Private Funds Act, AML Regulations, FATCA and CRS. Outstanding time management, critical thinking and attention to details are required. Ability to maintain high levels of discretion and confidentiality. Candidate must have strong business development and networking skills, be highly motivated, and adept at building relationships in the Cayman Islands and internationally.
