As we expand, we are looking for an experienced Legal & Compliance Manager to be our subject matter expert in legal and regulatory matters, ensuring we operate within the highest standards of compliance while enabling the business to grow confidently. What You'll Be Doing: Legal Documentation & Contract Management : Draft, review, and maintain all legal documentation, including financing agreements with customers, partnership/merchant agreements, and investment agreements. Ensure contracts are legally sound, commercially viable, and aligned with business objectives. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including AMLA, PDPA, Moneylending Act, Consumer Credit Act, and other applicable financial services regulations. Monitor regulatory updates, assess impact on business operations, and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures. Compliance Framework & Risk Management: Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program, including policies, procedures, and internal controls. Regulatory Liaison & Reporting: Prepare and submit compliance reports to relevant regulatory bodies in an accurate and timely manner. Act as the main contact point for regulatory inquiries, inspections, and audits. Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver compliance training programs to all employees to ensure awareness and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Fundraising & New Business Support: Support fundraising activities, including reviewing investor agreements, coordinating legal due diligence, and managing data rooms. Advise management on compliance implications of proposed business strategies and new products/services. Investigations & Corrective Actions: Investigate and resolve compliance breaches or violations, implementing corrective measures promptly. What We're Looking For: Execution-focused with the ability to balance compliance integrity and business needs. Minimum 5 years of relevant legal and/or compliance experience, ideally in financial services, banking, or fintech. Strong understanding of Malaysian financial regulations with proven experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. High attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and capable of working independently.
