We lead with curiosity, collaborate across departments, borders, languages, and genres, and we’re committed to delivering on the promises we make to each other and to our songwriters.Your role:This is a project-driven contract position created to assist the Regional Finance Manager in supporting the ongoing Finance changeover process. This is done by supplementing the current Finance teams based across Asia, including Greater China and ASEAN territories, in delivering current state day-to-day financial and accounting functions. The Accountant will partner, whether physically or remotely with the local Finance leaderships, with guidance by Regional Finance Manager, in managing all financial and accounting activities including but not limited to royalty administration, audit and compliance, reporting, budget and forecast management and any ad hoc projects as assigned.As a natural progression, this role would have the opportunity to also spearhead continuous improvement and streamlining of current processes and procedures to ensure that the Company is compliant with local accounting standards, regulation and company policies while ensuring cost efficiency are effectively maximised.Here you’ll get to:Handle day-to-day financial operation tasks such as accounts payable and accounts receivablePreparation of journal entries and month-end closingPerform Balance Sheet accounts and intercompany balances reconciliation every month.Assist to prepare monthly financial and management reportsSupport the royalty process and royalty administrative workAssist to prepare annual budgets, quarterly and monthly forecasts.Liaise with auditors for annual statutory audit relating to the preparation of the financial account and tax matters.Ensure local compliance such as direct and indirect tax filing.Compete any ad hoc tasks assigned by local Finance leads, or Regional Finance ManagerKey Performance Measurements:Management of the workload in a thorough, prompt, accurate, presentable and where appropriate, confidential mannerEnsure accurate financial reporting and compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations etc. at all timesExperience and Qualifications:Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related fieldAt least 3-5 years of working experience in finance and accounting functionsExperience dealing with complex data processes and procedures and ability to provide simple and easy-to-use solutionsExperience of data analysis with the ability to analyse complex information to provide insight and propose relevant strategic action plansSkills/Abilities Required:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsCommercial awareness and business acumenExcellent time management skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environmentStrong communications skills both verbal and written across all levels of an organisation.Ability to communicate and read in Mandarin or/and CantonesePossess high level integrity, initiative and results orientedWilling to travel overseas if requiredWe'd love it if you also had:Proficient IT skills, working experience with SAP, Microsoft Dynamic Navision and Hyperion will be advantageousExperience working in the media/creative sectorFamiliarity with APAC financial reporting standards#WCM
