- Work collaboratively with the business to identify savings opportunities during annual budget drafting by analysing spend data and market trends to propose cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Proactively plan the sourcing events for the year with the Head of Division and his/her direct reports and secure alignments and buy-ins by developing a comprehensive sourcing calendar and presenting clear business cases.
- Guide his/her category managers on tender strategy preparation by providing expert advice on market approaches, supplier selection criteria, and negotiation tactics to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Guide his/her category managers on reviewing tender submissions by establishing clear evaluation frameworks and ensuring impartial assessment to select the best-value proposals.
- Review the tender strategy/outcome with all stakeholders prior to presenting for final approval/award by facilitating collaborative review sessions, ensuring transparency and addressing any concerns before finalising procurement decisions.
- Ensure the procurement cycle time is optimum and the sourcing activities are completed within the agreed timeline by proactively identifying and resolving obstacles and streamlining processes.
- Proactively plan resources for his/her unit and mobilise accordingly by forecasting workload, allocating personnel effectively, and ensuring the team has the necessary tools and support.
- Guide and coach his/her team members by providing regular feedback, identifying development opportunities, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
