- To teach as a member of the lecturing team, within a variety of settings, in a developing capacity within an established programme of study, mainly in computer science.
- To develop and prepare lesson plan, learning material, coursework assessments, exam papers and organizing class activities as well as to keep record of an action plan.
- To identify the learning needs of students and to define appropriate learning objectives and delivery methods by effective usage of college equipment and system (Vialing/Moodle, free screen video recorder, whiteboard/smartboard, ProQuest, Turnitin, open learning, MS office etc).
- To challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
- To supervise the work of students, provide advice on study skills and help them with learning problems.
- To attend as well as organise conference and seminars for students.
- To mark and assessment of subject coursework and examinations, selecting appropriate assessment instruments and criteria, providing constructive and comprehensive feedback to students, and maintaining up to date and accurate records of student progress and achievement.
- To ensure that content, methods of delivery and learning materials meet the defined learning objectives and that they are regularly reviewed for opportunities for improvement.
- To use listening, interpersonal, and pastoral care skills to deal with sensitive issues concerning students, provide support and to encourage personal development.
- To act as a personal tutor, giving first line support.
- To engage in research, academic journals, and publications.
- To reflect on practice and the development of own teaching and learning skills and to continually update knowledge and understanding in field or specialism.
- To create and update internal program syllabus in line with national accreditation standard and to ensure timely updates of subject notes, assessments and exam paper submissions as well as ensuring all semester subject files uploaded via DMS.
- To ensure adherence to, and effective operation of quality assurance and enhancement policies and procedures of academic department.
- To carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs, in line with college objectives for career development.
- To actively participate and support in college events during the open days and education fair.
