The Credit Controller Manager will oversee credit management processes, ensuring effective debt recovery and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role is critical in supporting the Accounting & Finance department within the energy industry.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to team members, setting and evaluating annual goals and performance benchmarks.
  • Drives the team's success in meeting quarterly and yearly billing and collections targets through hands-on management and strategic planning.
  • Promotes collaboration across departments and with external partners to support effective collections and billing operations.
  • Oversees projects and change management efforts to improve processes and boost operational performance.
  • Ensures strong internal controls are established, maintained, and adhered to within the area of responsibility.
Core Duties:
  • Collections: Design, implement, and regularly assess strategies and action plans to meet quarterly collection targets and improve cash inflow.
  • Dispute Resolution: Handle escalated disputes and issues raised by customers, sales, and operations teams.
  • Bad Debt Management: Coordinate with legal and collection agencies, authorise case escalations, and manage write-offs and customer insolvencies.
  • Authorisations: Approve exceptions such as special payment terms, refunds, payment arrangements, credit holds, sales commissions, and profit & loss adjustments (including provisions and write-offs).
  • Receivables Oversight: Monitor aging reports, ensure prompt follow-up on overdue accounts, and take preventive steps to reduce bad debt risks.
  • Reporting: Lead in providing analysis and insights through regular and ad hoc reports, identify trends, and contribute to monthly financial reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Monitor the efficiency of collections and credit processes, identify root causes of issues, implement corrective actions, and proactively spot new risks through routine reviews.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related discipline, with 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Solid knowledge of the solar EPCC/construction sector is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess situations and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical mindset with critical thinking capabilities.
