Senior Engineer (Gold Mining)

Key Responsibilities will include, but not limited to;

Positive safety and work attitude is essential.
Set and clearly communicate targets and expectations aligned with site and business objectives.
Accountabilities for the role include all mine engineering, mine geology, survey and technical services.
Maintain mine plans, including daily plans, weekly plans, monthly forecasts, yearly budget plans, and LOM plans.
Routine operational reports will be required, including but not limited to daily, weekly, monthly, mine reconciliation reports, reserve block model/grade reports.
Preparation of mine designs (pit designs, waste dump designs, access roads, stockpile designs, drainage designs. etc.) and blast designs using the Surpac software.
Manage day to day relationship with and provide guidance to Mine Operations team.
Day to day mining contractor management.
Communication with geologists and other professionals and site management.
Contractor claim review/validation/verification and management.
Pit optimization using Whittle.
Mine cost analysis and alternative project evaluations.

Key qualifications and experience required include the following;

A tertiary qualification in Mine Engineering
More than 5 years of mine operations experience in the resources industry
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of Safety Management and a positive approach to implementing and execution of Management Systems.
Knowledge of Surpac Software and the use of Whittle highly desirable.
Competent user of Mircosoft Office Products especially Excel, Work and PowerPoint and Access database.
