We are currently seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.Successful candidate would be offered fixed term employment.About The JobPerform engineering detailed design on current projects for onshore /offshore projects and to fulfill Departmental needs and support engineering operation within the Company.1) DESIGN BASIS, CODE & STANDARD Understanding and applying knowledge of design codes, industries standard and practices such asAPI/ISO/ ASME, etc. and Interpretation of the requirement to meet project requirement Competent to resolve problems /trouble shoot based on Codes & Standards interpretation Understand Codes limitation, apply with accuracy and effectiveness. Understanding of Client's specification (e.g. PTS, DEP etc.) and provide service which meet contractrequirements Review and raise clarifications on the ITB /Client documents/ Contractual documents in case ofambiguity in definition / lack of clarity / lack of reference/ areas of doubt etc. based on specialistexperience /judgment.2) KNOWLEDGE OF ROTATING EQUIPMENT Understanding of rotating equipment used generally in oil and gas / refinery / industries for onshoreand offshore applications, and select correct types of equipment for a given process service application Understanding and engineering competence in hydraulics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, rotor-dynamics, combustion etc. Able to predict rotating equipment performance without over dependence on Vendor Competent to review Vendor's various options (including limitation and /or deviation) and providedetailed technical evaluation (TBE/TBT) of the equipment. Competent to review in-house and Vendor's P&IDs and identify interfaces for the equipment Competent to witness the Vendor FAT / shop testing, and review test reports and provide relevantcomments if any Competent to participate effectively to resolve any issues related to equipment testing in case offailures / deficiencies /under-performance /discrepancy during shop testing. Competent to provide support by responding to Site Technical Queries (STQ) regarding equipmentengineering design /equipment installation / mechanical completion for field acceptance Competent to explore cost-saving options / energy efficient measures during project execution phaseor during proposal, if requested, and if available Competent to actively involved in the equipment / project HAZOP and close out of any action points3) MATERIAL SELECTION Understanding of various types of materials to be used for different services (Wet CO2 service, sourservice, low-temperature service, toxic service, etc) and knowledge of material available in the marketfor the particular service and equipment, and review of Vendor proposes material. Understanding of materials grades to be used based on process's input / material selection report /corrosion study, and provide feedback if necessary, in-case of the material selected are in questions.4) WORKING DELIVERABLESAble to prepare effectively in a timely and productive manner Calculation Spreadsheets Technical Data Sheet Job specification / Equipment specification Material Requisition (MR/SR) Technical Clarification Technical Bid Evaluation / Tabulation (TBE /TBT) Equipment selection study reports Input to other disciplines' deliverables such as layout and utility requirements Weight data and foundation loading input Equipment interface details Equipment list input Compressor aero / thermodynamics studies and summary Driver selection and de-rate Equipment selection study report5) VENDOR DATA REVIEW (VDR) Review on Vendor Data Review to meet Codes and Standards, Local Regulations, project and disciplinesrequirements Competent to interface with other disciplines like piping /stress group, process, civil, electrical,structural and instrumentation Able to understand interface issues with other disciplines, and resolve any conflict Able to conduct VDR meeting with vendor /support Vendor in case of needs to shorten the VDRduration and to achieve project progress.6) FABRICATION KNOWLEDGE Understand fabrication process, critical element/ critical path and how its influence the delivery ofequipment Able to anticipant effectively to improve delivery schedule of Vendor equipment7) OTHERS Good professional judgment, responsive and pro-active in execution of rotating equipmentdeliverables to meet project needs, and ability to handle difficult situations arise due to complexitiesof Project demand Produce quality engineering deliverables / service and meeting JV/ Client expectation Fulfill QA /HSE aspects, with acceptable team-worksAbout YouThe Candidate shall possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Hons).
