At BASF, careers develop from opportunities.Objectives of the PositionBe an integral part in shaping the pioneering, agile and exciting Asia Pacific Communications Services team at the BASF Shared Services Centre Kuala Lumpur (henceforth referred to as 'Hub')Support the internal and external communications activities for the market of Indonesia, whilst being a part of the Asia Pacific Communications Services team at the HubCollaborate with communication colleagues in the hub and in the legal entities in Indonesia, to ensure consistent and high-quality rollout of the communication strategy across various communications channels (internal and external)Leading marketing communications and CSR events, which includes planning the events end-to-end remotely, drafting documentation (speeches, releases, presentations, etc), analysis and post-event evaluationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to create engaging event content and experiencesPerform translation and localization of global and regional news releases, website content as well as videos, in consultation with local counterparts; this entails proofreading and copy editingDevelop bilingual content for internal communications - social media posts, bi-weekly e-newsletter, message from MD, event speeches, well as ad hoc work based on story opportunities; this includes working closely with business and functional units in the country to develop the storiesDevelop content for external communications - BASF Indonesia's local corporate website, online publications, social media, copywriting for calendar and agenda, as well as press release and key message documentsWhen needed, communicate with local and regional media outlets; this includes sending press invitation, following up, checking in on RSVP, and distributing press releaseReview and proofread documents such as key messages, customer letter, invites etc, for spelling, grammar, clarity and clear messagingRegularly update country presentation, backgrounder, boilerplate, and other standard documentsActively collaborate with the team of colleagues providing other specialist services at the Hub (digital, event planning, branding) to better fulfill stakeholder requirementsSupport the MD and senior management team in driving internal forums and mechanisms for engagement e.g. Townhalls, BU activities and employee surveysSpearhead brand identity topics, including brand positioning, promotions, and digital marketing for events and local activities internally and externally. Act as country brand champion and guardian.Plan and deliver content management and update the company's website, social media, and internal communication channelsWork with external agencies and vendors as needed, managing relationships, deliverables, to execute event activities within the timelinesContinuously develop knowledge about the Indonesian market and provide communication services and consultancyMinimum Education and Qualification Required for the PositionEducation: Bachelor's or master's degree in public relations, mass communication, or related fieldsWorking Experience:Significant demonstrated success in internal and external communications in a multicultural corporate or agency environment; generalist communicators with a minimum experience of 6-7 years would be preferredExtensive knowledge about Indonesia and familiarity with its culture are required; some experience living or working in Indonesia will be an assetActively contribute to a collaborative climateExperience in organizing corporate events (virtual/physical/hybrid).Eagerness to upskill and learn about latest trends in communicationsTechnical & Professional KnowledgeStrong command of Bahasa Indonesia with strong fluency in Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan (EYD), as well as a good command of English languageStrong content development acumenGeneral understanding of the Indonesian market and media landscape, along with some knowledge of regional geopolitical landscapesExcellent working knowledge of basic computer programs (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CMS)Basic knowledge of using canva and wordpress is an added advantageStay alert for possible recruitment fraud!
