The engineer will work with cross-functional value-stream teams. This is a hands-on role which requires on-site support and managing other employeesPrincipal Responsibilities
  • Provides technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area.
  • Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques and production yields for existing products.
  • Develops and conducts statistical analysis such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) targeting physical cause of failure for yield loss and improving quality.
  • Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.
  • Ability to establish and optimize process parameters for machine or equipment related to assembly process.
  • Ensure all operations carried out are within specifications as written in the procedures and work instructions.
  • Monitor and control department's performance to reduce waste, improve efficiency and quality of output at all operations.
  • Ensure that process parameters are within control and liase with Quality personnel when equipment or process parameters are out of control.
  • Achieve overall assembly quality target as set by Management.
  • Develop and optimize assembly process cycle time, parameter setting, procedure, and work instruction for molding or assembly.
  • Troubleshoot production issue and establish permanent solution to improve on processes and production yield.
  • Participate in cross functional activities for new projects as well as to coordinate on project transfer.
  • Writing validation protocols, execute process validations, analyse and troubleshoot to optimize process.
  • Ensure all NCR (Non-Conformances Report) are close on time.
  • Develop and foster quality awareness and teamwork among employees.
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancement of quality, cost reduction and throughput yield.
  • Upkeep and maintain production areas using 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, FDA regulations and good manufacturing practices.
  • Perform any other relevant and relates responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time as required by superior.
Education / Experience Requirements
  • Must be able to communicate fluently (written and verbal) in English and Malay language.
  • Good communicator.
  • Creative and analytical thinker
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Knowledge in Process Validation.
  • Root cause analysis and statistical methods.
  • Exposed to Quality Engineering tools and techniques, e.g SPC and Minitab.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field.
  • Master's degree in manufacturing related engineering field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Production engineering experience in manufacturing process
  • Worked in a lean manufacturing organization.
  • Familiar with FDA requirement on medical device regulation.
