- Architect and implement secure, scalable enterprise data platform solutions and security frameworks.
- Lead the end-to-end security and compliance of bp’s unified data platform, aligned with industry and regulatory standards.
- Drive operational excellence by optimizing platform performance, reliability, scalability, and resilience.
- Spearhead modernization and automation of platform services, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise IT systems.
- Define and enforce platform governance, risk management strategies, and global security policies.
- Develop and manage automated systems for monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and identity access management (IAM).
- Champion the adoption of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices (e.g., AWS CDK, Azure Bicep).
- Enhance disaster recovery and high-availability strategies across all data services.
- Collaborate with internal technology teams and external vendors to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Mentor engineering teams, promoting innovation, skill development, and technical excellence.
- Guide long-term platform investment strategies, including cybersecurity risk mitigation and roadmap planning.
- Work with senior technical leaders to develop a scalable, efficient, and forward-thinking platform architecture.
- Coordinate cross-functional priorities and deliver platform strategies that scale across bp’s global footprint.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience in enterprise data platforms, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure operations.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in C# and Python.
- Deep understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as AWS CDK or Azure Bicep.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL, Agile methodologies, and enterprise IT governance.
- Programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with modern data and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Kafka, Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong foundation in SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, and data lake architectures.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure, AWS, Databricks, and Palantir.
- Proven experience in building secure, scalable data ingestion pipelines, governance models, and visualization platforms.
- Ability to design and optimize large-scale, multi-cloud data platforms, balancing cost, performance, and resilience.
- Experience with real-time and batch data streaming architectures.
- Skilled in tuning distributed query engines and managing data indexing for performance optimization.
- Demonstrated success operating platforms within globally regulated environments.
- Working knowledge of compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, or PCI-DSS.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-powered data engineering and intelligent automation to optimize operations.
