Position SummaryThe Senior Network Engineer in Allianz Technology Malaysia, Regional Delivery Center (RDC) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced network solutions to meet the strategic needs of the organization. This role involves leading network projects, optimizing network performance, ensuring security, and mentoring junior network staff. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in network architecture and a deep understanding of network protocols and technologies.Key Responsibilities
  • Network Architecture: Design and implement scalable and secure network solutions that meet organizational requirements.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage complex network projects, including planning, execution, and delivery within specified timelines and budgets.
  • Network Optimization: Analyze and optimize network performance through monitoring, troubleshooting, and proactive maintenance.
  • Security Management: Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and threats.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers and support staff.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate new technologies and manage procurement processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure network resilience and data integrity.
  • Network Tools: Utilize advanced network management tools for monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Cloud Management: Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud-based infrastructure. Implement and manage cloud security measures to protect data and systems.
  • Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with global teams to manage and deliver globally managed services. Coordinate with global teams to ensure alignment and consistency in service delivery.
  • Any other duties when deemed necessary. Completing projects on various issues when needed.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a related role, with a focus on design and architecture.
  • Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Proficiency in network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and VLANs.
  • Experience with network security practices and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging network technologies and trends.
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
  • This role may require on-call availability and working outside regular hours to resolve critical issues or perform scheduled maintenance.
  • The position may involve occasional travel to various sites for installation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with teams
Desired Attributes:
  • Certification in network technologies (e.g. Cisco, CCNP/CCIE, CompTIA Networks+)
  • Experience with cloud networking and hybrid environments
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong project management skills
  • May require travel within the region to manage network sites and meet with stakeholders
  • Availability to respond to network emergencies outside of regular business hours
