- Lead and foster strategic stakeholder relationships with government and politicians, government agencies, industry groups and advocacy groups.
- Drive thought leadership and maximize J&J impact in shaping the external environment by ensuring appropriate representation in and engagement with trade associations, advocacy organizations, international forums and non-traditional stakeholders.
- Strategically build and strengthen J&J’s credibility externally, position J&J as a key partner and secure J&J’s seat at the table in key government initiative and discussions
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the drivers for each of the five key stakeholder groups: physicians, patients, providers, the payers and the policy makers.
- Contribute to the development of business sector’s short and long-term strategy by providing insights on external landscape analysis from perspectives of government and policy impact.
- Prioritize government affairs and policy opportunities that are aligned to each sector’s business growth and in strengthening J&J’s reputation, based on deep understanding of business insights
- Provide advice to and collaborate with sector business leaders and key functional leaders on governmental issues to develop contingent strategies business and or crisis management.
- Monitor the internal and external environment to ensure corporate integrity is established and fostered consistently across the products and services, leadership and all operational aspects of the business.
- Proactively work with both internal and external stakeholders on all legislative and regulatory matters from policy development, interpretation and implementation that are relevant to J&J
- Establish strong working relationships and communications with business leaders and key functional leaders to ensure consistent alignment of goals and priorities in a collaborative, thought-provoking and productive manner.
- Maximize GA&P integration with business and other internal partners by facilitating discussions especially in challenged situations, and ensure sound corporate governance is achieved.

- Play a key role in talent development strategy in local and regional context
- Develop a budget plan and implement budgetary control policies to establish financial accountability in the sub-cluster
- As a key member on the Malaysia local Leadership Teams and APAC GA&P Team to spearhead and lead special initiatives across the enterprise to further J&J reputation at local and regional levels.
- Deep understanding of the political system and policy development processes.
- Proven ability to master complex regulatory and policy issues, and to translate them into clear strategies and actions that are relevant to J&J businesses.
- High level of strategic thinking, business acumen, strong analytical skills combined with critical and creative thinking.
- Have extensive experience in formulating and leading significant issues management and government relations.
- Extensive experiences in leading and influencing cross-functional teams of experts, and ability to engage and influence senior executives in a clear and concise manner
- Be highly articulate, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working competency using IT applications relevant to the role, including knowledge of document sharing platforms and cloud-based services and virtual conferencing
- Have strong leadership presence, outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership and influencing skills, an established level of credibility and strong business acumen.
- Key analytical and problem-solving skills in developing policy, shaping communication strategies, understanding business implications and recommending actions.
- Requires a high degree of independent judgment and decision making.
- Demonstrate a mature, adaptive and flexible disposition to credibly and effectively interact with a range of senior level executives across the global business and broader market segment.

- 8+ years of professional experience
- Education and/or additional training: BA required.
- Advanced degree in public policy, health policy or related field preferred.
- Experience in working with political systems, policy issues, and government (Healthcare policy is preferred)
- Experience with analytical and creative approach to policy issues
- Proven coalition-building and external representation and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Melayu and English,
- Commitment to ethical business practices
- This position will be located in Selangor Darul Ehsan , Malaysia.
