Drive business development by implementing sales action plans for the MICE market, attending trade shows, networking events, and conducting site inspections.
Manage group conversion processes, including forecasting revenue, monitoring competitor activities, and maximizing up-selling opportunities.
Build and maintain strong client relationships by coordinating closely with the Room Sales & Events Management teams.
Ensure high exposure for the hotel in key markets through direct sales, presentations, and professional communication.
Support administration functions including reports, filing systems, contracts, and correspondence for the Director of Convention Sales.
Maintain updated knowledge of citywide events, conventions, and exhibitions to leverage business opportunities.
Conduct pre- and post-event meetings, issue thank-you follow-ups, and manage familiarization group coordination.
Cross-sell and promote other Shangri-La hotels within the region to maximize brand presence.
Requirements
Diploma or Higher School Certificate in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field.
Minimum 2 years' experience in MICE Sales or Events Management, preferably in an international-class hotel.
Strong business development and negotiation skills with proven ability to deliver results.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English (Mandarin is an advantage).
Proficient in OPERA and Microsoft Office applications.
Confident, dynamic, and able to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and follow-up.
Positive, enthusiastic, and able to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
