Ambu is currently looking for a R&D Lab Technician to be based in Penang, Malaysia. This position reports to the R&D Lab Engineering Section Manager. If you are from medical device industry with experience in test & verification, this position would be suitable for you. Key Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining test equipment functionality, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration coordination. Undertake troubleshooting and repairs of machines, auxiliary equipment, installation and modification works. Coordinate and provide 3D printing services for projects. Support engineers to conduct tools, jigs & equipment design, product testing, measurements and data collection. Sourcing of parts, components, materials and equipment from contractors. Support in the purchasing and logistic activities for R&D department. Ensure documents are accurately recorded in the Agile PLM database. Conduct daily 5S laboratory audits and recommend ongoing improvements for equipment management. Execute laboratory test assigned ensure the data accuracy and integrity to maintain the safe and efficacy use of product. Lead or assists in day-to-day activities of lab verification and engineering and laboratory operational improvement activities. Suggested candidate profile Skills Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you: Diploma or Bachelor&aposs Degree in Mechanical, Mechanicatronics or any Engineering field. Possess strong knowledge, skills, and hands on experience in equipment setup and maintenance. Hands on knowledge in mechanical (tensile machine, optical measurement system and torque tester, 3D printing, robotics) and electronics equipment. Experience in equipment management and calibration. Ability to perform troubleshooting and repairs of machines, auxiliary equipment, installation and modification works. Good documentation practice and maintain the accuracy and integrity of test data. Possesses good communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
