OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTIONS (For Malaysian Applicant only) OVERALL SCOPE OF JOB DESCRIPTION To source, secure and maximize revenue opportunities from dedicated international and DMC accounts (leisure FITs/groups but also meetings and incentives) on the UK and European markets particularly. The Sales Manager will be required to conduct their duties in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the resort's policies and procedures, ensuring that a professional and high level of service is maintained at all times. SPECIFIC DUTIES & PERFORMANCE Develop sales action plan to target key accounts and new business from the Leisure, Meeting & Incentive segments while maintaining and developing business with existing customers in the assigned area particularly Europe and UK markets as per instruction by Executive Director of Sales. Liaise with our European Sales Reps (UK and GAS countries but could be extended to other countries in the future) to help them confirm bookings from their respective geographical area. Participate actively to the monthly meetings with them and EDOS. In charge of DMC accounts whose main focus is Europe and UK. Training of the teams, regular updates and follow ups to strengthen partnerships and increase level of business these DMCs bring. Daily sales activities to the assigned clients, phone sales as well as keep contact via emails in order to achieve the hotel performance and individual budget set by the management. To produce sales call report on a weekly basis. To maintain the sales database and update file for each account as per standard in the camcard system is extremely important. To submit monthly sales reports to EDOS in a timely manner. To reply to all group requests within 12 hours and with the rate guidelines given by Director of Revenue (DOR). If rates are outside of approved rate guidelines, approval from DOR or EDOS is required. Participate to familiarization tours in order to profile the resort and engage with customers for event organizers, meeting planners, incentive operators, FIT travel agents and other industry personnel as applicable for the market segments. Ensure a sales focus on all resort facilities including food and beverage, golf, activities, The Datai Pledge and spa. Input all data in the resort's appointed system for appropriate account management, follow up and files accordingly. Ensure files, correspondence and other relevant business documentation are maintained and filed accordingly in the Sales Dropbox. Always be alert and keep management fully updated on any trade related development which can affect the business level of the resort. Participate to sales meetings actively with ideas and concepts. Coordinate with Groups Coordinator/Event Sales Manager/Coordinator based in Langkawi once the business deal is closed for their smooth follow ups. Set joint objectives and goals with EDOS within appropriate time frames and measure performance against objectives. Anticipate guest's needs through observation and offer prompt, efficient service either personally or through effective communication with other associates. Align working practices and conduct with Resort's Vision and Mission; consistently strive to meet and exceed the expectations of both internal and external guests. To develop and maintain knowledge of market trend, competition and customers. Involve management in aspects of decision making for your accounts by participating actively in all meetings and get their input into winning & negotiating business. Display creativity and initiative skills by being able to operate with minimum supervision. Co-operate with all departments within the resort. To maintain the strictest confidentiality on all matters relating to The Datai Langkawi plus all other sales and personnel related matters. Practice The Datai Langkawi Core Values. In addition, other duties may be required as directed by EDOS and / or General Manager REQUIRED SKILLS Minimum 1 (one) years' experience in a luxury hotel Diploma in Hospitality Management or similar is a plus Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Analytical and problem solver Ability to work under pressure Able to react fast but calmly in the midst of any co-ordination problems Be passionate and have the drive and determination to meet / exceed set goals Comfortable in dealing with all levels of people Actively participate as a team player to ensure unit cohesion Ability to be assertive Knowledge of current market situation and trends especially European/UK markets and luxury accounts. Good understanding of luxury programs (such as Virtuoso or Serendipians) is a plus Must possess strong computer skills, inc Microsoft Office, (Excel/PowerPoint/Word).
