- Create and implement long-term sourcing strategies and capacity planning (3+ years horizon) to align with business growth.
- Evaluate, select, onboard, and manage suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and performance standards.
- Lead cost forecasting, negotiate pricing, drive cost reductions, and mitigate risks such as material shortages and obsolescence.
- Negotiate and execute Master Supply Agreements and ensure procurement practices align with company policies and legal standards.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, legal, and finance teams to ensure alignment across product, sourcing, and supply chain strategies.
- Proactively address material availability issues and implement stocking strategies to prevent supply disruptions.
- Benchmark components and technologies, monitor supplier KPIs, and implement continuous improvement plans.
- Lead RFQ processes, evaluate supplier bids, and award business based on cost, quality, lead time, and performance.
- Conduct in-depth market, industry, and supplier research to inform sourcing decisions and strengthen the commodity strategy.
- Drive resolution of deliverables, ensure procurement goals are met, and provide regular performance updates to leadership.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in direct material commodities, sourcing, or a related procurement role.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional engineering or sourcing projects.
- Experience with battery electrode materials and raw material sourcing is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Comfortable working in multicultural environments and capable of effective cross-cultural communication.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally for supplier audits, reviews, and site visits.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning and skill development.
