Measure, review and analyze current and proposed environmental permits, laws, and regulations on their impacts towards international or local projects and ensure implementation as required to meet international environmental standards, while effectively communicating those impacts to management, relevant stakeholders and JV companies power project development.2. Gather and analyze environmental and socio-economic information to ensure the ESIA/EIA process has been conducted in meeting international standards (Equator Principles and World Bank's IFC Performance Standards, Hydropower Sustainability Standards) and to make recommendations to the management and JV companies in meeting those requirements.3. Ensure implementation of preparing, reviewing, analyzing, reconciling and coordinating works, data and information for preparation and submission of documents required by authorities such as ESIA, EIA and other related environmental reports and other relevant environmental applications, plans, and reports by the required due dates enabling the financial due diligence to be carried out timely for the successful implementation of power development projects by SEB and JV companies.4. Ensure timely preparation of RFP for EIA/ ESIA/ ESMP/ Environmental Reports tender, tender evaluation, tender management paper for GSFMTC/ JV Companies Board and tender award.5. Ensure implementation of EIA/ESIA stakeholder's engagement (complying with the principles of Free, Prior, Informed, Consent) on environmental and social aspect with the affected local and indigenous communities on any new power project development of SEB and JV companies.6. Ensure all the environmental statutory requirements of the project host countries were obtained/ approved and adhered to and continuous compliance in meeting environmental regulatory requirements for all power project development.7. Monitor, measure, analyze, review, benchmark and make recommendations on environmental compliance and performance of all SEB and JV companies power project development such that continuous compliance is achieved and aligned with company requirements and statutory requirements of the Project host country and to strategize further improvement or intervention measures to enhance compliance (shall there be a need) during the project development cycle.8. Incorporate appropriate environmental requirements (both local and international requirements) during front end loading and tender specifications stage for power project development's contractor(s) to execute and provide improvement of specifications from time to time such that they are aligned with all relevant updates of environmental statutory laws and guidelines.9. Ensure implementation of the Internal Environmental Compliance Audit (IECA) and coordination of external environment auditors for SEB and JV companies to ensure projects comply with local environmental laws and international best practices; and also implementation of policies and procedures to ensure practices comply with the applicable environmental permits, laws, and regulations during project execution.10. Provide guidance and advice on environmental management aspects during construction phase in terms of, but not limited to, solid waste management, construction waste, scheduled waste management, environmentally hazardous substances (EHS), erosion and sediment control, air pollution control, wastewater management, material and oil storage management, sanitation and sewage management and any environmental management aspects associated with the IFC or HSS performance standards.11. Ensure proper decommissioning of construction activities and necessary remediation or rehabilitation upon completion of project.12. Evaluate and analyze environmental quality (e.g., air, water, noise, groundwater, biological) of each project (before and after project implementation) in line with international best practices and identify necessary intervention for rectification or remediation work, if any.13. Execute investigations and resolve compliance problems, questions, or complaints received from within SEB and JV Companies, customers, communities, government regulatory agencies and/or the public of the host country.14. Explore new initiatives and nature studies in relation to environmental rehabilitation and biodiversity conservation directly or indirectly impacted by SEB and JV companies power project development striving to meet no-net-loss target in any environmental offset's activity.15. Coordinate preparation of budget for International Project Development & Control programs, review and submit program timeline and cost estimates to the Senior Manager of EIA, and ensure all expenditures comply with financial procedures and are within budget.THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES:
  • Perform all tasks in line with the Information Security Quality Manual (ISQM) and the ISMS roles and responsibilities procedure of SEB and JV Companies.
  • Perform all tasks in line with the Information Governance Policy Suite and Guidelines of SEB and JV Companies.
  • The challenges in order to satisfy customer at the expense not to compromise on SEB and JV Companies internal control and procedures.
  • The challenges to meet the different regulatory compliance requirements of different host countries which vary in standards, policies and procedures.
  • The challenges in order to bear and tolerance with the regulatory compliance authority that may cause delay in project implementation.
  • Resistance from local society and NGOs on proposed project.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Engineering, Science, Applied Science or Environmental Science with 10-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferably a registered EIA consultant (DOE & NREB).
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
