We pledge to make Prudential a place where you can Connect, Grow, and Succeed.Reporting to the Assistant Manager/Manager of General Accounting, this position shall support the General Accounting BAU operations unit by performing general accounting processes timely and accurately on a daily basis by following the applicable standard operating procedures and internal policies.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform daily general accounting business-as-usual (BAU) operational tasks and complete BAU timely and properly.
Ensure daily GL files are posted successfully into GL system.
Prepare interfund settlement and reconciliation for various funds.
Prepare or post journal entries, upon approval by the authorized approvers.
Prepare submission of Withholding Tax Annuity to Inland Revenue Board and Unclaimed Monies to Jabatan Perakaunan Negara.
Perform accounts reconciliation (including suspense accounts) between source systems and GL system timely and properly to ensure completeness and accuracy of journal entries posted.
Investigate the unreconciled differences, including identifying root causes, action plans and target resolution dates to resolve the differences. Escalate issues identified, where appropriate.
Prepare ageing analysis timely and as and when required for reporting purposes.
Follow-up and resolve GL issues/discrepancies timely. Escalate issues identified, where appropriate.
Perform month-end closing tasks and complete month-end closing as per timeline.
Document/Update the general accounting processes SOPs as and when required.
Work closely with the relevant stakeholders on any issue arising from general accounting processes.
Provide support on all issues identified from audit by external auditors, GwIA & Regional SOX team for general accounting processes related area.
Assist on any ad hoc & administrative tasks upon request.

Job Specifications:1. Education

Bachelor or Degree in finance, accountancy, banking, investment, economics or equivalent.
Internationally recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, etc.) or working towards designation will be an added advantage.

2. Experience

At least 1 year of working experience in the financial services industry such as insurance or banking will be an added advantage.

3. Special Business Knowledge and Skills

Computer literate & proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Basic mathematical skills.

4. Others

Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Independent, organized and possess good work ethics with a positive attitude.
Flexible and able to adapt in a dynamic environment.
Attention to details, meticulous and diligent.
Strict adherence to applicable internal policies and procedures.
Strict compliance with all applicable deadlines and able to work under pressure.
Responsible and willing to learn.
