About the Job Head of Technology and Operations Payments Division (Please only apply if you have payments background). As the worldwide leader in the tax-free shopping and multi-currency payments and currency conversion services, Global Blue is continuously working on improving the products and services which serve the most prestigious brand in the retail and hotel sectors and large merchant acquirers globally. We are looking for a Head of Technology and Operations to join our "Payments" division reporting to the SVP of Payments. The head Technology and Operations, plays a critical role in aligning technology initiatives with business objectives. This position combines expertise in IT governance, strategy, operations, performance measurement, and cost optimization. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of technology investment plans, platform and product development ensuring efficient resource allocation and strategic alignment with the payment's organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities of the Role IT Governance: Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to guide technology decision-making and main IT support structure. Ensure change management processes are followed and regularly reviewed to ensure best practice. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices including management of the compliance team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define governance structures and accountability mechanisms including group infrastructure and support. Project Management & Implementation: Own the overall management of project delivery and implementation by working with various stakeholders to plan and co-ordinate efficient delivery of projects by internal and external. Ensure broader IT projects are correctly managed including establishment and review of all IT projects that impact the payments business. Review and maintain resources strategy to meet business requirements including support and new projects. IT Strategy and Management: Develop and present the technology plan for the platform and set out goals to achieve plan. Setting the visions, driving, and defining the strategy, getting the agreement, and funding, and delivering - towards business units, management, customers. Challenge designs during the concept and review phases to drive toward re-use, efficiency, security, and stability. Collaborate with senior leadership in Payment team to align technology strategy with overall business strategy. Demonstrate alignment between technology and business product roadmaps. Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization and platforms that you manage. Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for technology initiatives. Monitor project performance, track milestones, and assess outcomes on platform and project development. Regularly report on progress to stakeholders and recommend corrective actions as needed. Leverage frameworks such as the Technology Business Management (TBM) and FinOps frameworks to provide transparency over the cost, consumption and performance of technology services. Business Value: Work closely with business units to understand their needs and priorities. Evaluate technology investments based on their potential value to the organization. Partner with finance to accurately track the project portfolio expenditure including forecasting and accruals. Conduct cost-benefit analyses and prioritize projects accordingly. Identify specific metrics to measure benefits against planned investment outcomes. What we are looking for in a candidate: Core payments and acquiring business knowledge of multi-currency transaction processing. Knowledge of ITSM, SOC2 and PCI. Experience in distributed platforms application architecture and best practice. Core infrastructure knowledge both on premise and cloud-based architectures. Experience of leading teams and managers in 24x7 critical service support Knowledge of transaction compliance requirements PCI, SOX, Audit, Excellent at influencing and negotiation, comfortable dealing with senior customers and willing to challenge them based on sound reasoning. Excellent written, verbal, social and decision-making skills, Self-motivated, highly organized, working well under pressure, remaining focused and calm in the face of distractions and changing priorities.
