Medical Lab Technologist

• Experience in Phlebotomy - Venous Blood Extraction from patients.
• Responsible for the overall daily operations of the Pathology and Clinical Diagnostics Laboratory.
• Identify areas requiring attention with respect to QA/QC, turnaround times, equipment utilisation, etc. Develop and implement relevant Standard Operating Procedures and Policies towards efforts for managing and improving the areas identified.
• Ensuring the Medical Lab Equipment is well maintained and calibrated regularly.
• Stock Taking.
• Maintain sufficient inventory (Reagents and disposables).
• Responsible for set-up and / or maintain committees that enhances the quality, efficiency and profitability of the laboratory. These committees include but not limited to Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Safety, Continued Education, etc.
• Provide leadership and guidance to all laboratory personnel, which includes the setting of their personal performance goals.

• Candidates must possess a minimum Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Candidates with a minimum of 1 year working experience are preferred.
• Candidates must possess excellent communication skills.
• Candidates must be pro-active and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as participate within the team.
• Candidates must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, possess a mature attitude and a good team player.
• Candidates must possess strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and abilities.
• Candidates with experience in ISO/MS 15189 Medical Lab Accreditation including Internal and External Audits are preferred.
