The person in this position will address all aspects of procurement including supplier management, supply-base strategy, market trends assessment, pricing, & developing multi-sources. He/she would liaison with internal stakeholders including legal, engineering, planning, logistics, warehouse and finance and act as procurement ambassador to the business to ensure a complete alignment and deep understanding of the business goals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand near term and long-term business needs.
  • Request for quotation, negotiate pricing, sourcing components, commercial and supply agreements with suppliers.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve quarterly and yearly cost reduction.
  • Work with suppliers to define proposals/contracts; and integrate highly technical concepts and objectives into contractual terms and conditions.
  • Work with legal team to execute legal contracts such as NDA, TPA with suppliers.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with manufacturing, quality, planning and engineering departments.
  • Monitor commodity market trends & reflect market dynamic in terms of supply, cost, etc.
  • Perform cost analysis for designated commodities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive cost reduction, savings & cost avoidance initiatives for all procurement projects.
  • Provide procurement guidance to functional management on critical sourcing issues.
  • Present alternatives and risks associated with potential sourcing decisions.
  • Prepare detailed business/financial analysis which leads to final sourcing decisions.
  • Manage a category that has a direct impact on company's business revenue and profit. Define and implement category strategies in support of major products or programs.
  • Monitor and measure the results to ensure the organizations objectives of quality, cost, delivery and profitability are achieved.
  • Conduct data analysis to calculate, build and present reports including KPI's, Monthly/Quarterly area spend and savings & supplier Open PO's.
.QualificationsQualifications:Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3-5yrs of experience in procurement of capital equipment in semiconductor or electronics industries.
  • Prior experience in sourcing of electronic and mechanical components including printed circuit board assemblies is preferred.
  • Contract Negotiation / Vendor Mgmt. / Influencing skills required.
  • Experience and expertise with sourcing & contracting ERP tools (SAP and/or Oracle).
