- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify existing and potential risks impacting the company, and evaluate the effectiveness of current risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide research and analytical support on best practices in risk management and sustainability, and benchmark against industry standards.
- Develop risk mitigation and management plans for identified risks, and establish the company's risk appetite.
- Review and enhance the sustainability strategy, and formulate policies to drive the sustainability agenda within the company.
- Lead initiatives to improve environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the ESG program and serve as the internal focal point for sustainability efforts.
- Prepare and manage risk management and insurance budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on risk management and sustainability initiatives to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Educate and raise awareness among business heads and employees on risk management and sustainability practices.
- Conduct policy and compliance audits, liaising with internal and external auditors as necessary.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry trends, particularly in the oil and gas/shipping sector, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Build a culture of risk awareness and sustainability consciousness within the organization through training and support initiatives.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in risk management and/or sustainability roles, preferably within the oil and gas/shipping industry.
- Strong understanding of industry practices, regulatory requirements, and standards related to risk management and sustainability.
- Familiarity with Bursa Malaysia's requirements on sustainability would be advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to critically evaluate complex information.
- Detail-oriented and meticulous in approach, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Effective planning and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
