Software Engineer, Fullstack - Polaris

• The Foundations Polaris team is dedicated to building a top-tier registration, authentication, and authorization system for all users in the Grab ecosystem, specifically tailored for SEA markets.
• Our daily mission is to ensure robust authentication mechanisms that provide strong proof of user identity while minimizing user friction.
• These mechanisms are optimized for mobile, web, and voice environments.

• Design, implement & manage web apps
• Experience a shipping culture that uses the state of the art web technologies

• Learn software engineering practices for coding at scale: static analysis, feature flags, instrumentation, and more

• You will design and write with the cutting edge GO language to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Grab's range of services
• You will partner with other engineering teams to explore and create new design/architectures geared towards scale and performance.
• You will be involved in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.
• You will collaborate closely with the infrastructure team in building and scaling backend services and performing root cause analysis investigations.
• You are responsible for building, and fixing large-scale systems and debugging and modifying production software.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs
• Build and deploy performant modern web applications in React, Redux, Webpack, ES6, and Flow
• Write unit, functional and end-to-end tests

• Continuous desire to learn new things and embrace the latest technologies.
• You have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
• You are passionate about building products, features and platforms to accelerate business growth.
• Experience shipping web applications to production
• Proficient understanding of the HTTP protocol
• Proficiency in building frontend applications using HTML, CSS and Javascript.
• Familiarity with the whole web stack, web protocols, and web performance optimisation techniques
• In-depth understanding of web frameworks (such as Rails, Django, etc)
• Detailed knowledge of minimum one modern JavaScript framework: React, Ember, Angular, etc
