As the Senior Corporate Affairs Associate, you will be integral in spearheading Beam's expansion across Malaysia. This position calls for an individual who thrives in a high-paced environment and excels in strategizing and executing government relation plans, whilst dedicated to expanding Beam's growth in Malaysia through the launch of new cities and fostering a regulatory environment that is conducive for micromobility growth.You will be exposed to the exciting frontier of super-charging the expansion efforts & government relations of a leading micromobility operator in MY in an industry rooted in technology & sustainability.Responsibilities:
- To be able to lead the charge in understanding the regulatory landscape of our industry; formulating effective strategies that enable Beam's expansion across Malaysia, in line with our country strategy.
- To work closely with the Country Manager to ensure that corporate affairs strategies are optimal & aligned with the business direction.
- To be able to execute corporate affairs strategies accordingly & with excellence.
- To be able to deploy effective government relations initiatives to help shape the developing micromobility policy environment we are in e.g. including lobbying, rapport building, networking, etc.
- Engage with local government officials, council members, and other stakeholders to support Beam's operations.
- Continuously monitor changes in the policy landscape and evaluate their potential impact on Beam operations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Operations, PR/MKT, BD, CS) to ensure smooth business operations.
- Conduct research to provide insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Minimum 4 - 5 years of experience with government agencies or government relations/ public affairs roles from the private sector.
- Experience in a role that involves business development & regulatory policies is a must.
- Experience in lobbying efforts will also be a plus point.
- Excellent communication skills (spoken and written), including the ability to convey complex concepts both orally and in writing in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to organize, plan, and implement work assignments, manage competing demands, and work under the pressure of frequent and tight deadlines.
- Executional skills is important. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage stress effectively, & adapt to handle ambiguity of the corporate affairs environment.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multicultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
