Purpose of the position Develop, initiate, own and drive pricing activities across the business within the country to continuously improve pricing performance, ensure cost recovery and create constructive interaction between the core stakeholders, eliminating detrimental pricing practices, educating employees about the importance of pricing and empowering them with information. Principal Responsibilities Price Strategy Provide analysis, drive and support the business to: Set strategic pricing targets as part of development and maintenance of a Price Strategy and further Price Policy, with clear executive support and subsequent communication to the business. Develop, implement, maintain and monitor adherence to an Authority Matrix (a direct outcome of the Price Policy). Identify opportunities, develop and co-ordinate tactical pricing initiatives across the business. Understand and monitor factor cost changes and cost recovery rate, providing this to the business on a regular basis to ensure full cost recovery and development of strategies for any required mitigation. Manage development of annual business pricing budget & plan that will meet or exceed the pricing and cost recovery objectives. Manage customer price change communication process, in line with any legal requirements and contractual notice periods. Price Planning Support the business to: Subscribe to stretched annual price increase targets that are linked to the price effect/cost recovery target incorporating entitled price and ensuring sustainability. Drive and coordinate the effective execution of the Mass Price Change including business heads and sales team engagements and target refinement process. Ensure the sales force are provided with standardised information through effective tools to perform a full review of customer prices and develop pricing proposals, such as recommended selling price & subsequent required authorisation levels, optimising as far as possible the available IT landscape. Review and align contracts to Linde Global Best Commercial Practice and regulatory conditions. Price Execution Schedule and lead monthly pricing meeting with stakeholders on status. Drive and coordinate the effective execution of pricing initiatives. Work with the business towards automation of the price increase process. Price Controlling Regularly review price increase actual versus target, escalate through the management structure and take appropriate actions when required. Regularly report across all elements of the Price Controlling Framework (Eg. price and volume effects) at all required levels of the organisation (Eg. product, customer, sales person, etc.) escalating through the management structure and taking appropriate action when required. Others Be the speaking partner for all Regional and Global price activities, including participation in all Pricing & Contract Management (P&CM) and the required action plan is implemented by due dates. Champion and administration of the Contract Management Tool. Drive continuous improvement and operation excellence enabling a robust and efficient management of contracts' obligations and price entitlements. Work with country Productivity teams to continuously identify, track and report price productivity benefits from pricing initiatives implementation. Required Key Skills (Functional/Technical) n depth commercial knowledge: understands the commercial & financial implications of pricing and cost recovery strategies & assesses how to effectively lead the delivery of targets. Strong analytical skills : knows precisely what data to gather, directs data gathering effort & develop recommendations Results focussed and ability to track and monitor progress against plan. Excellent influencing & facilitation skills, experience in managing cross functional groups. People and team management: ability to lead & motivate a team, ability to work with globally/regionally diverse teams Highly effective Project management skills Required Qualifications/Experience 7 years + experience in finance, commercial, sales, marketing or in another related role Related University Degree Excellent understanding of the business, ideally with an in-depth knowledge of commercial pricing and cost recovery elements. Experience of operating within a global, multi-functional organisation is highly advantageous Experience in leading change successfully required High English proficiency Skilled at Excel.
