JOB SUMMARY:The Associate Accountant supports the finance team by performing essential accounting tasks, including payment processing, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data and helps maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. It plays a critical role in the month-end and year-end close processes and assists with financial reporting. The successful candidate also collaborates with other departments to resolve discrepancies and support overall financial operations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (studying or recently graduated)
  • Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite or equivalent ERP applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, working with spreadsheets and basic formulas such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS function
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Track record of identifying inefficiencies and developing solutions to improve processes
  • Perform work accurately and in a time-efficient manner, with strong attention to detail, organization, and follow through
  • Familiarity with basic accounting procedures, including journaling transactions, accruals, and reconciliation preparation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process payments to partners accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with internal controls and payment policies
  • Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assist with financial reporting
  • Contribute to short-term cash forecasting by providing visibility into upcoming payment obligations and tracking payment cycles
  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies related to payment issues, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Assist in preparing supporting documentation for audits and internal reviews
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. legal, partner development, product)
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting practical solutions
  • Assist with general administrative tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned
