Position: Cost Controller Location: Kuala Lumpur Employment Type: Contract We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. This role will be responsible for driving effective cost management across our projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to support business objectives. Key Responsibilities Independently gather, consolidate, and analyze cost data to support timely reporting and decision-making. Implement and adhere to approved cost control procedures throughout all project phases. Develop and maintain detailed cost control plans using company tools and industry best practices. Establish and manage the Cost Breakdown Structure, ensuring accurate allocation of budgets, resources, and related data. Monitor and consolidate commitments and actual costs across assigned project scopes. Review, analyze, and maintain accurate cost forecasts using industry standards. Track budget variances, identify deviations, and challenge stakeholders where necessary. Prepare and distribute internal cost reports in line with company standards. Reconcile project cost reports with accounting and financial records. Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy, ensuring correct coding and cost allocation. Assess Change Orders and potential variations impacting project budgets, updating registers accordingly. Collaborate with other project teams to ensure seamless cost control integration and information flow. Contribute to risk management processes by providing cost insights and identifying budgetary risks. Conduct cost risk analyses to determine accurate contingency reserves. Provide mentorship and support to junior cost control staff when required. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or Operations Management. AACE certification (CCT or CCP) is an advantage. Minimum 8 years of cost engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry, OR 12 years in other industries with strong knowledge of Oil & Gas processes and FPSO projects. Prior experience in a senior cost control role is highly desirable. Proficiency in SAP (preferred) or other ERP systems. Show more Show less
