- Develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy aligned with the overall organizational goals and objectives.
- Identify security risks specific to the manufacturing facility, conduct risk assessments, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the local senior management, facilities organization, HR, IT, and legal to align security initiatives with facility operations.
- Oversee day-to-day security operations, including access control, surveillance systems, guard management, and shuttle bus operations.
- Monitor and analyze security incidents, conduct investigations, and maintain incident reporting and response protocols.
- Manage security personnel, contractors, and third-party vendors involved in security services.
- Coordinate with external agencies, such as law enforcement and emergency services, as necessary.
- Implement and maintain security systems and technologies, including access control systems, CCTV, intrusion detection systems, and alarms.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness and reliability of security systems, recommend improvements, and coordinate system upgrades or installations.
- Ensure proper integration and compatibility of security systems with other facility systems (e.g., fire alarm, HVAC, etc)
- Develop, test, and maintain crisis management plans for various scenarios, such as fires, natural disasters, medical emergencies, or security incidents.
- In collaboration with the safety team, conduct drills, exercises, and simulations to test emergency response plans and assess staff readiness.
- Coordinate with the Facilities Organization and other relevant departments to establish and maintain emergency communication systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security regulations such as Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT), laws, codes, and industry standards.
- Keep up to date with relevant security regulations and standards and implement necessary changes to security programs.
- Liaise with internal auditors during security audits and assessments.
- Assist in addressing security-related findings and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver security training programs and materials for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Conduct periodic security awareness campaigns to educate stakeholders on security best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Facilities, Safety, and Human Resources to integrate security elements into employee onboarding processes.
- Conduct routine risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and recommend risk mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop incident response plans and ensure effective incident management.
- Lead or assist in the investigation of security incidents, gather evidence, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Security Management, Criminal Justice, or Business Administration. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP) are desirable.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in security management, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in developing and implementing security programs, policies, and procedures.
- Familiarity with physical security systems, access control (Ccure 9000), Genetec Video Management System, and alarm systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and management skills to oversee security operations and personnel.
