- Complies with company's values and principles on SHE related matters.
- To guide, support and implement safe work practices in line with company's Safety, Security, Health, Environment and Quality Management System requirements, and in compliance to relevant legal requirements.
- Business Strategy and Development – responsible for business growth in assigned areas / markets
- Investment Proposal – responsible for funneling the pipeline of PIPs / SIPs / FIPs related to assigned areas / markets
- Stakeholder Management – responsible for managing identified stakeholder
- Project Management – responsible for managing and delivering projects per company and / or stakeholder policies and guidelines
- Mergers and Acquisitions (optional) – responsible for M&A development in assigned areas / markets.
- Learning & Development (if Manager level)
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI)
- Determines business direction, target market segments, approach to market.
- Recommends budget, turnover and revenue targets to achieve.
- Standardization and harmonization of price structure and approval of quotations and agreement not within standard pricing structure.
- Recommends broad guidelines for contract terms and conditions.
- Initiate advertising and promotions, and organizing customer events, etc.
- Handles response to customers on strategic issues, complaints, etc.
- Qualifications & Educations: A recognized Bachelor or Master degree in Technical / Engineering or Commercial /Business Economics or equivalent professional qualification, preferably in the Petroleum & Petrochemicals industries or associated industries.
- Languages: Fluent in both written and oral English. Proficiency in other languages are a plus point.
- Travel Requirements: Mobility to travel on short notices is required, mostly within Malaysia and Singapore.
- Experiences: A minimum of 5-10 years working experience, particularly in Commercial or Business Development in petroleum or petrochemical sector or associated industries. Of these, minimum 3 years working experience in business development and project-related commercial roles. For Manager level, minimum 3 years working experience in people management.
- Excellent working knowledge in Petroleum / Petrochemical industry.
- Familiarity in Supply Chain covering storage and terminaling, shipping, trucking, warehousing etc is an added advantage.
- Deep understanding of the industry’s technical and operation processes, initiatives, market trends and industry pricing structure.
- Thorough understanding of financial concepts and models.
- Ability to influence and negotiate, prioritize, meet tight deadlines, multitask.
- Strong leadership, project management and business development skills.
- Good in analyzing strategic internal and external factors and well in collaboration with all functions.
- Budgeting and costs effectiveness.
- Familiarity in Government and authorities regulations and policies is an added advantage
- Independent, highly self-motivated and result-oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; influencing others
- Analytical mind-set for trouble shooting and problem solving.
- High EQ in handling difficult situations
