Storage Engineer Role Overview The Storage Engineer will be responsible for designing, certifying, and engineering on-premises storage solutions (NetApp, PMAX, Isilon) for enterprise environments. The role involves lifecycle management, access management, and automation of storage solutions while adhering to architectural standards and compliance frameworks. Key Responsibilities Design, strategy, and certification of on-premises storage platforms (NetApp, PMAX, Isilon) Manage and maintain storage administration tools (e.g., BlueXP) Collaborate with architecture and operations teams for lifecycle management, capacity planning, and optimization Ensure compliance with security and access management standards (AD groups, Priv ID) Create and maintain documentation, engineering templates, and certification processes for new hardware and solutions Perform storage and virtualization optimization for data centers, including capacity forecasting and scalability planning (align with PI targets) Evaluate new technologies and recommend refresh cycles to maintain compliance with vendor lifecycle (EOL/EOSL) standards Assess and recommend vendors/models, and participate in certification and testing for new hardware in on-prem deployments Develop a strong understanding of the client environment, tools, and engineering processes to ensure alignment with organizational structure and ways of working. Serve as the primary POC for branch site engineering activities, coordinating requirements, addressing site-specific challenges, and ensuring successful implementation of infrastructure solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Required Skills Strong expertise in on-premises storage systems: NetApp, Dell EMC PMAX, Isilon Experience with storage management tools (DII, BlueXP) and storage automation Familiarity with ITIL processes, performance tuning, and storage optimization Hands-on experience in hardware certification and deployment in large enterprise environments Good to Have Exposure to Cloud Storage solutions (AWS FSxN, Azure NetApp, Blob Storage) and hybrid storage models Backup Engineer Role Overview The Backup Engineer will be responsible for designing and engineering on-premises backup solutions using Commvault and related backup tools. The role covers automation, backup strategy, data protection, and compliance across enterprise workloads. Key Responsibilities Design, strategy, and certification of on-premises backup solutions using Commvault and other enterprise backup tools Develop and optimize backup strategies covering targets, availability, resiliency, data protection tiers, and capacity forecasting (align with PI targets) Manage and maintain backup administration tools and automation Ensure compliance with security and access management standards (AD groups, Priv ID) Collaborate with architecture and operations teams for lifecycle management, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and transition support Create and maintain documentation, engineering templates, and certification processes for backup environments Evaluate new backup technologies and recommend refresh cycles to ensure compliance with vendor lifecycle (EOL/EOSL) standards Assess and recommend vendors/models, and participate in certification and testing for new backup hardware in on-prem deployments Required Skills Strong expertise in Commvault and enterprise backup infrastructures Knowledge of backup strategies including resiliency, data protection, and tiering Familiarity with ITIL-based processes and backup optimization techniques Experience in hardware/software certification for backup environments in large enterprises Good to Have Exposure to Cloud Backup solutions and hybrid backup architectures (e.g., cloud data protection extensions)
