- Conduct and execute comprehensive compliance monitoring and testing programs to assess compliance risk of internal controls put in place to manage the risk of the bank.
- Conduct regular reviews to assess the effectiveness of the bank's compliance controls and processes.
- Design and implement testing procedures to evaluate adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
- Offer training and counsel on pertinent regulatory mandates while fostering a culture of compliance.
- Provide advice to relevant stakeholders regarding regulatory requirements, including updates on the latest developments.
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidelines affecting the financial industry.
- Interpret and communicate regulatory changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of compliance testing and monitoring activities.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports to senior management, bank HQ and regulatory authorities.
- Document findings, recommendations, and corrective actions in a clear and concise manner.
- At least 6 or more years experience in a similar capacity or related role.
- Advanced degree or professional certification in compliance (e.g., CAMS, CFE)
- Experience in compliance monitoring and testing, with knowledge or experience in risk is highly desirable
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations and provide practical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
