This position will be acquiring direction and reporting to the GM and Finance Controller of the company. Main Responsibilities Performing partial accountant/analyst role focused on EU ETS, and partial balance will be controlling. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures for the treatment of EUAs in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and WSM's/Wilhelmsen group's accounting guidelines. Supporting vessels/shipowners exposed to EUAs countries. Monitor and analyze market trends and insights from various accredited accountancy firms to stay up to date on best practices in the accounting treatment of EUAs. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to align accounting practices with the commercial value proposition of both WSM and its subsidiaries. Manage the valuation of EUAs, including the classification of financial assets and the recognition of provisions for excess emission rights. Ensure that the accounting treatment of EUAs limits the balance sheet risk of WSM and its subsidiaries. Qualifications Mandatory requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience in the accounting treatment of EUAs or similar financial instruments. Exposure in IFRS (added advantage) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skill. Strong reconciliation skills-keeping track of purchased allowances vs liability. Knowledgeable in SAP is preferred.
