To lead and/or participate in operational and non-financial risk activities across a portfolio of Local Business Units (LBUs) and Head Office in line with the expectations set by the Group Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, Group Risk Committee and Group Risk Management Framework. To implement a robust operational and non-financial risk management framework across all in-scope LBUs and facilitate a strong non-financial risk culture across the Group. Job Responsibilities Support the Director of Operational and Non-Financial Risk Management in delivering Group Risk Management Framework and Group Operational Risk Policy requirements. Promote a non-financial risk culture that supports strategic goals of the Group and its Local Business Unit activities including: Implement and recommend enhancements to the Group Non-Financial and Operational Risk Management framework, policies and systems. Deliver structured Non-Financial and Operational risk training (process and system related). Participate in key functional change projects/initiatives. Provide of ad hoc support to Head Office and Local Business Units in the execution and development of risk management capabilities and risk awareness. Lead Risks and Controls Assessments across allocated Local Business Units and maintain a 'live' Risk and Control Register for Head Office. Perform detailed reviews of internal operational risk incidents (including risk appetite flags) at Head Office and LBUs. Ensure root causes have been comprehensively identified, actions fully mitigate risks, and actions are tracked to completion / implemented. Lead / support the Group Operational Risk Management team to deliver the annual Group Operational Risk Capital assessments. Perform quality reviews of the operational risk management tasks that LBUs perform and provide challenges / upskill the LBU Risk teams where necessary. Job Requirements Strong stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach and ability to command trust and buy-in of key stakeholders. Ideally having existing relationship management responsibilities with senior stakeholders in current role. Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation and facilitation capabilities. Internal risk and control professional with strong insurance business understanding is ideal. Candidates with operational risk banking experience and/or insurance audit experience will also be considered. Results-orientated with experience and expertise of non-financial and operational risk management. Strong management ability, and a demonstrable track record of commercial / delivery success. Strong conceptual and strategic thinker with the ability and vision to see the big picture. Proactive and 'can do' attitude. Flexible skill set across multiple non-financial risk disciplines. Experience in change and transformation with demonstrated flexibility and agility. Advanced knowledge of the application and components of a strong non-financial risk framework.
