- Develop and implement the strategic vision and direction for the contracts management department, aligning it with the overall goals and objectives of the company.
- Oversee the end-to-end contracts management process, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and industry best practices. This includes contract negotiation, drafting, review, and execution.
- Lead and manage a team of contracts professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the effective execution of their responsibilities. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring their adherence to contractual terms and conditions. Monitor performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks, working closely with legal counsel to ensure the company's interests are protected. Develop and implement risk management strategies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage budgets for contracts and procurement activities. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement measures to control costs effectively.
- Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to contracts management. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in contract execution and administration.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the contracts management function, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices to optimise processes, increase efficiency, and mitigate risks.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and other departments, to ensure clear communication and collaboration throughout the contracts management process.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the contracts management department and regularly evaluate performance against these metrics. Implement strategies to improve performance and drive operational excellence.
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Proven experience in a similar senior-level contracts management role within the property development industry
- Strong knowledge base of contract law, procurement processes, and industry best practices
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
