#LI-GM SN597 WO#3 Core Banking Job Title: Junior Developer (Deposits, Core Banking) Domain: Core Banking Sub-Domain: Deposits Years of Experience: L2 (3-5 years) Location: Kuala Lumpur Job Summary: As a Junior Developer in the Deposits sub-domain of Core Banking, you will be responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of deposit-related applications on the AS400/Mainframe platform. You will work closely with business analysts, testers, and other developers to ensure the efficient processing of deposit-related transactions and functionalities. Key Responsibilities: Develop, modify, and maintain programs using RPG & CLP on AS400. Design, code, test, debug, and document programs according to technical specifications. Work with DB2 on AS400 to write and optimize queries, stored procedures, and database operations. Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions for deposit-related functionalities. Ensure system performance, stability, and reliability while adhering to banking regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and provide timely resolutions. Support application deployments and changes using DevOps tools (e.g., Aldon). Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and peer programming activities. Document system design, program specifications, and user guides. Work within the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and follow change management processes. Required Skills & Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in AS400 development using RPG (RPGLE/Free RPG) and CLP. Strong knowledge of DB2 on AS400, including SQL queries, performance tuning, and database management. Experience in debugging and troubleshooting applications in an AS400/Mainframe environment. Knowledge of banking operations, specifically deposit-related functionalities, is an advantage. Familiarity with DevOps tools (Aldon or similar change management tools) for deployment and version control. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Good-to-Have Skills: Experience in integrating AS400 applications with other banking systems. Understanding of core banking systems and deposit processing workflows. Knowledge of job scheduling and batch processing in AS400. Exposure to automation and modernization of AS400 applications.
