- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive OSH policies, procedures, and guidelines aligned with local legislation and international standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and workplace audits to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and ensure ongoing compliance with safety requirements.
- Oversee and manage OSH documentation, including incident reports, audit findings, and regulatory submissions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Design and deliver effective OSH training programs to cultivate a safety-conscious culture among employees at all levels.
- Ensure team members understand their OSH responsibilities and are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Create and update communication materials such as posters, newsletters, and safety alerts to reinforce safety messages to all stakeholders.
- Lead thorough investigations of accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on OSH performance, incident analysis, and trend evaluations for management review and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Industrial Relations teams to integrate OSH considerations into workplace policies and employee relations.
- Assist in resolving OSH-related disputes and foster a harmonious work environment compliant with safety regulations.
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of OSH objectives, worksite inspections, risk assessments, and incident management activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections and internal audits to verify compliance, documenting findings and developing action plans.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for the OSH Committee and regulatory bodies, ensuring transparent communication of OSH performance and compliance status.
- Perform any additional OSH-related tasks or responsibilities as assigned to support the bank’s safety objectives and operational needs.
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline recognised by Malaysian authorities.
- Possession of a valid Safety and Health Coordinator Certificate (OSH-C) issued by a recognised Malaysian training provider will be given priority.
- Relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent recognised by Malaysian regulations are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, Factory and Machinery Act 1967, and other relevant Malaysian safety legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively at all organisational levels.
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in occupational safety and health (OSH) management, preferably within the banking, financial services, or corporate sectors.
- Proven track record in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive OSH policies and programs in compliance with local regulations and international standards.
- Extensive experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety legislation, standards, and best practices applicable to the banking and corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead safety training sessions, promote a safety-first culture, and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience managing OSH-related projects and collaborating with external agencies or consultants.
- Prior experience in crisis management and emergency preparedness planning is preferred.
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements related to OHS and ISO45001:2018.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address safety issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams, external agencies, and regulatory bodies.

- Adaptability and resilience in managing safety challenges in a dynamic banking environment.
- Valid certification in Occupational Safety and Health, such as the DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate of Competency for safety and health officers (e.g., preferably Certificate of Competency (COC) for Safety and Health Officers - Grade A or B, OSH Coordinator, SHO).
- Added advantage if you are a member of the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) or other recognised professional bodies.
- Formal OHS and Environmental compliance training. Knowledge of sustainability-related issues and reporting will be an added advantage.
- Continuous professional development (CPD) certification to stay updated with the latest OSH standards and best practices.
