Job Description:PurposeResponsible for leading a team of Software Engineers who develop and implement systems and applications that will meet business needs.The role will be hands-on with their technologies, particular the larger and more complex technologies with significant impact to the PETRONAS Group and putting in place best practices to build out large scale applications.Responsibilities * Strategic Leadership:
  • Provide strategic leadership for the entire software engineering department.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall organizational strategy.
  • Team Management:
  • Manage and lead multiple software engineering teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Vision and Roadmap:
  • Define and communicate the technical vision and roadmap for the software engineering department.
  • Align technical decisions with long-term business goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other department heads, executives, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Resource Allocation:
  • Optimize resource allocation across projects and teams.
  • Ensure that teams have the necessary resources and support to succeed.
  • Budget Management:
  • Manage the budget for the software engineering department.
  • Make strategic decisions to allocate resources effectively.
  • Talent Development:
  • Oversee talent development and succession planning.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance for leadership development within the engineering teams.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance processes and standards.
  • Ensure that software solutions meet high-quality standards.
Accountabilities * Departmental Success:
  • Take accountability for the overall success and performance of the software engineering department.
  • Ensure that departmental goals align with the broader organizational strategy.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Contribute to strategic planning at the organizational level.
  • Execute on the strategic vision for the software engineering department.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the software engineering department at the executive level.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate technical and project-related risks.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered successfully and align with business objectives.
  • Innovation and Technology Adoption:
  • Drive innovation in software development processes and technologies.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance organizational capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the software engineering department.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation.
  • Conflict Resolution:
  • Address conflicts and challenges within the software engineering teams.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Executive Leadership:
  • Participate in executive-level decision-making and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
  • Provide strategic guidance on technology and software-related matters.
Qualifications * Recommended qualification in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering or other related Digital Engineering field.
  • Min of 14 years of working experience in software development and delivery.
  • Min of 6 years of management experience.
  • Proven track record in leading software engineering teams and delivering digital products at scale.
  • Expert understanding in the following technology domain (combination): infrastructure, data centers, network, security, disaster recovery, system integration, cloud and monitoring.
  • Experience in Cloud development and environments, including participation in cloud transformation projects.
  • Experience in automation testing frameworks and process automation.
  • Experience utilizing DevSecOps tools and implementing them at the enterprise level.
  • Experience managing multicultural teams across different locations and time-zones.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing industry standard documentation for PCI, PDPA, GDPR, ISO compliance, or equivalents.
  • Obsessed with delivering high quality & secure customer-centric solutions.
  • Problem solver with analytical and critical thinking, capable in making sense of complex , high quantity information and connecting the dots to design the right technical solutions which address business aspirations.
  • Strong drive with superior communication, negotiation, presentation, critical thinking and time management skills.
  • Dedication to life-long learning and initiative to continuously improve business and technical skill sets.
Preferred Additional Qualifications: * Certified Cloud credentials.
  • Certified with IASA, TOGAF or other IT architecture and framework standards.
  • Certified Scrum Master/Product Manager/PMI-Agile.
  • Experience with AI/ML Ops.
