
Export Control Lead

- Serve as a leader and liaise with colleagues on EC matters.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for all EC issues within the responsible SE entities / businesses, including conducting 4W reviews and regional escalations for all relevant transactions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable EC laws & regulations (national & international, when applicable) and SE EC Policy, Directives, and Procedures. Identify and correct the gaps, as applicable.
- Report any non-compliance observations and incidents to the EC CoE Operations Manager and Business Owners.
- Support, drive and lead EC initiatives / activities for site or project as required including annual Key Internal Control (KIC) for EC CE.13 and acting as the EC contact for any Supply Chain Security programs (e.g C-TPAT, AEO) or with official authorities.
- Support EC CoE Operations Manager in export control related local inquiries / investigations which can be initiated by Global EC CoE.
- Conduct EC (4Ws) reviews and escalate applicable transactions / projects for EC CoE’s approval.
- Monitor transactions with EC risk identified proactively, by utilizing local / global IT system (e.g BFO, SAP, Oracle etc) or reports generated from the systems.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders within the organizations, including Sales, Tender, Project Manager, Finance Controller, Legal etc., to mitigate the EC risk.
- Ensure local policy & procedures are implemented by conducting regular audits. In the advent of a process breach, report the transaction to the EC CoE Operations Manager, respective stakeholders and ensure the transaction is on hold until all due diligence initiatives are completed and secured.
- Support in the implementation of local / global export control internal audit program, and the execution of any rectification actions.
- Report potential business risks to EC CoE Operations Manager.
- In-depth understanding of the business process of the organizations and identify the key stakeholders within each organization to facilitate the implementation of EC compliance program.
- Understand and get access (if necessary) to the relevant IT tools / systems which are utilized in business operations and try to identity any opportunity to optimize the EC monitoring or due diligence in a more efficient way.
- Identify gaps in implementation of EC Policy and Directives, develop and implement mitigation and corrective actions.
- Document EC activities, maintaining proper record keeping of transactions, reviews, escalations & approval, trainings and incidents.
- Educate local teams on EC related matters. Maintain local training records & ensure appropriate EC training/s are delivered annually.
- Engage with the SPOC Community, EC CoE, joining Open Lines, and other EC related communications campaigns.
- Provide EC support and backup to other countries/regions when required.
- Degree in Business Administration or any other related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience with experience in supply chain / risk management / tendering / project management / business process management are preferred.
- Has ability to deliver clear and simple messages and develop relationships with key partners.
- Has high level of responsibility and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
- Attention to detail: Thorough review of transactional and project details to identify export control red flags.
- Analytical skills: Examine data, identify patterns and trends, and make logical conclusions.
- Microsoft Excel skills: Proficiency in data analysis, including functionalities like Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues.
- Report writing skills: Summarize findings for export control reviews and outline steps for the company.
- Communication skills: Convey information clearly and understandably.
- Interpersonal skills: Effective communication with diverse personalities to ensure compliance with export control regulations.
