Where you fit in As Senior Reliability Engineer, you will nurture the Shell Middle Distillate Synthesis (SMDS )Culture of Lead with Courage, make it Happen and Make it Better and drive the site to Best in Class performance as the World's Leading Gas-to-Liquids Specialties facility. You will be accountable to maximize defect elimination by ensuring the identification, prioritization and mitigation of reliability threats, and realization of reliability opportunities across the site becomes a standard work through the Manage Threats & Opportunities process. You will be responsible to ensure consistent risk assessment across the site to maximize the integrated Production Team effectiveness in working on the highest priority activities to deliver the Business Plan. You will proactively identify and understand complex problems through reliability performance data analysis, ensuring problems are well defined and understood before solutions are developed. This includes leading complex problem solving when required involving multiple disciplines, sites and resources within Shell. You will also ensure that equipment costs, availability and sustainability are optimized through the Shell MEC Living Program. You will also be integral in the long-term Business Plan development by driving the Reliability Improvement Strategies and Plans for the Site and Production Teams. This will include capability development of technical expertise in the areas of Reliability to nurture a High Reliability Organization culture. You will effectively and efficiently deliver your team activities, ensuring continuous learning and improvement is applied to achieve the Site's short and long-term business objectives. What's the role As Senior Reliability Engineer (onshore), engages in planning, prioritization and coordination of Reliability Engineer tasks and activities aligned with the Top Threats / Opportunities identified. Integral to the development of the site's Reliability Strategy to close gaps in availability, capability, and competence with the Reliability Steering Team. Analyzes plant reliability performance data and provides reliability insight into Strategic Asset Management Plan, Business Plan, Reliability Strategies and Tactics, Risk Assessments, ST and LT MTO action plans. Communicate performance data to the site including Site Leadership, integrated Production Teams, and Run & Maintain organization. Drive prioritization and focused delivery of reliability tactics with the integrated Production team through rigorous implementation of the Manage Threats & Opportunities process from end-to-end. Ensure Risk and Consequence based methodologies are consistently applied in decision making. Deliver an effective Reliability Centered Maintenance living program and bad actor management through collaboration with TAO and action owners across disciplines to ensure timely and quality delivery of committed outcomes. Ensure the different facets of Reliability are effectively integrated into one strategy - MTO, RCM, PM, RST, Bad Actor, MEC and so on to deliver Shell MDS reliability ambition. Focuses on reliability issues and not fire-fighting issues - work strategically not tactically. Provide an overview of Big Hit items closure status and mitigation of reliability threats / realization of opportunities. This may include facilitating learning from repetitive failures and reliability events for more complex Big Hits or performing Deep Dives on equipment and processes based on performance, risk and criticality, and collaboration with EPST where required. In major turnarounds, drive the delivery of Flawless throughout the organization to proactively mitigate threats to reliability and realize opportunities. This includes leveraging reliability performance data to nurture organization understanding on mid- and long-term impact of executed turnaround activities, and site walks to assure understanding. Improve and maintain the Reliability knowledge management databases, including carrying out relevant documentation review and updates of procedures and work instructions, tracking of post implementation review, audit outcomes, bad actor lists and Root Cause Analysis/Causal Learning report outcomes or actions. Undertake special assignments or tasks as directed by Reliability Manager. Key Challenges: The Reliability team has increased in both capacity and capability to accelerate the Site's progress in resolving key reliability issues through enhanced problem solving and extensive application of the MTO and MEC processes. To start strong and deliver this capability seamlessly, visible leadership sponsorship, strong delivery by the team and continuous coaching of the organization towards holistic sustainable solutions is required. What do we need from you Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or Equivalent with 8+ years of oil & gas experience (Onshore & Offshore) Experience in developing, executing and/or driving reliability improvement strategies, tactics, root cause analysis, causal learning, or investigations in a manufacturing environment. Experience providing effective coaching, collaboration, and excellent communication skills. Key Competences: Demonstrated Leadership Attributes & Coaching Capability.
