- Architectural discussions and feature solutioning, eg. feasibility and trade offs etc.
- Engineering excellence, such as proper monitoring and logging, identifying performance and scalability issues etc.
- Timely delivery of reliable and scalable engineering architecture of high quality, maintainability and secureness.
- Apply Agile methodology, eg. running sprint execution, breaking down tasks and achieving predictability with good estimation.
- Track & monitor team & individual performances, building continuous improvement into the process. Mentor and coach engineers in the team, charting out a career path for engineers and guiding them through their growth path.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams in a global team model.
- Be part of on-call for the services we own, and drive post-mortems for incidents such as downtimes. Recruit, interview and close top talents.
- 8+ years of software development experience with demonstrated ability to design, build, and deliver complex, successful engineering systems or products efficiently and with high quality. B2B/SaaS experience is a plus.
- 3+ years of engineering management experience (teams of 5+ software engineers)
- Familiarity with the entire end-to-end web application stack, specifically web frontend, backend and infrastructure.
- Experience with backend in Golang (preferred) or Java, C++/C, C# or similar static languages.
- Experience with frontend in React or similar web frameworks.
- Experience with cloud system design with AWS or similar cloud providers.
- Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms, along with a good understanding of large data processing.
- Understanding of industry best practices such as Microservices, CI/CD, Testing strategies, network protocols etc.
- Experience with Mobile development is a plus.
- Proven team manager with a servant leader mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done collaboratively.
- Ability to clearly communicate high-level strategy and technical details effectively across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including to senior managers.
- Experienced in how to manage, support and grow a team of talented software engineers from a variety of backgrounds.
